Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora was established in 1991 as an independent, voluntary, and non-governmental organization with the objectives to support economic activity in Stara Zagora region and to represent and defend employers' interests. It collaborates in a Network of 28 regional chambers within the system of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is the largest employers' organization on a national level with over 55 000 member companies.
In 2001 CCI - Stara Zagora was pre-registered under the Law as a non-profit legal entity with a two-level management system. The Chairman of the Managing Board is Mitko Dinev, and the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director is Oleg Stoilov.
The Chamber has about 300 direct and over 1,500 associate members.
As part of a national organization representing employers', the CCI - Stara Zagora regularly performs surveys of the regional companies' positions towards regulations and rules. It is actively involved in the creation of the legislative framework related to business activities. To achieve its strategic objectives, the Chamber's Managing Board has developed an action plan, which covers activities and initiatives targeting:
- improving the business environment;
- solicitation of foreign investments;
- employment growth and the creation of new jobs;
- enhancing company culture and the competitiveness of the regional businesses.
CCI - Stara Zagora follows a policy of combining efforts for creating a better environment for entrepreneurial development. The Chamber works in partnership with NGOs, state and local government, and the companies in the region.
